Bad engineering in Sony's DCR-SR camcorder line

Cons: Engineering flaw rendering the camera useless after only a few minutes of filming.
The Bottom Line: Bad engineering of connection between camera body and LCD touchscreen renders camera useless. Would never recommend, will never buy Sony camera again.

Pros: No tapes, compact, light weight.
Cons: Poor image quality compared to MiniDV models
The Bottom Line: Unless you really want to ditch the casettes or can't afford a high def HDD camcorder, I would avoid the DCR-SR60.

Great entry level hard drive camera

Pros: Drive space, 12x zoom, hotshoe, comfortable to hold, good button placement
Cons: Requires dock to download, noisy zoom, next to no editing on camera, poor software
The Bottom Line: A solid buy especially if on a budget. Downloading to PC needs patience, but the video quality is worth the wait.

Pros: Adequate hard drive capacity, light-weight, compact size, logical operation, high video and audio quality.
Cons: Must use ducking station to download, inadequate video editing software, occasional image instability.
The Bottom Line: A great camcorder that produces great video quality and is fairly easy to use. You need additional accessories and editing software to get the best out of it.
