Pros: A good all-around 50mm prime lens with macro-focusing capability.
Cons: Focusing is a bit on the noisy side. Focusing racks the lens in and out.
The Bottom Line: This is a very good lens for the money and has macro-focusing capability—making it a fine, all-around lens.

Pros: Color Contrast, Sharpness, Macro.
Cons: Focus Ring, Special adapter required for true macro work.
The Bottom Line: It produces nice images, and has macro capabilities, making it a great contender in the 50mm arena.

Pros: Excellent at serving its intended purpose and can also serve as a standard 50mm.
Cons: Slower than normal focus, poor in low-light.

Cons: Autofocus useless at times Too sharp to use for some portraits, subject might hate you.

Pros: crisp, retains real perspective,MF excellent.
Cons: Weight.not as smooth a fit as other canon EF lenses. useless for AF.
The Bottom Line: Brilliant little lens, but works best on MF. Make sure you have depth of field preview on your camera.
