The best overall 400 speed film
Post by: captainmarvel - Date: 2004-05-09T23:24:47.000-08:00 Author's Rating: 5.00 rating
Pros: Excellent color saturation. Fine grain. Cheaper than Kodak film.
Cons: Color saturation may be too much for some (greens and reds especially).
The Bottom Line: Fuji Superia X-TRA 400 is your best bet for an all-purpose high-speed film. There is no better 400 speed film in this price range.

High Quality Prints& A Bargain, too!
Post by: colonialpara - Date: 2003-11-12T10:42:57.000-08:00 Author's Rating: 5.00 rating
Pros: Very fine grain for its speed, bright colors, convenient and inexpensive 1 hour processing.
Cons: Some over-saturation of brighter primary colors.
The Bottom Line: When you can only carry one speed of film, this one's hard to beat.

My love letter to Fuji
Post by: AgnesVarda - Date: 2003-10-20T18:33:04.000-08:00 Author's Rating: 5.00 rating
Pros: sharpness, contrast, color saturation, versatility, price
Cons: none
The Bottom Line: The one film with the most quality-to-price ratio. If you seek anything more advanced, you are venturing into prices at least 3 times as high.

Take This Film Out And SHOOT IT!
Post by: bntowen - Date: 2002-10-08T23:29:26.000-08:00 Author's Rating: 5.00 rating
Pros: use this film as well as amateurs, not contrasty, excellent skin tones, wow!
Cons: At 400 speed? Zero, zip, nada, nichts...you get the picture (sorry)
The Bottom Line: This is the BEST amateur film at any speed or price that's comparable with professional films' color saturation, skin tone reproduction, and enlargement capability, even up to 11 x 14!

Pros: Can't beat the price, enlarges quite nicely, nice exposure range
Cons: If you enlarge the picture, you may still notice a little bit of grain
The Bottom Line: Almost perfect 400-speed film at a perfect price

sharp, cheap, buy anywhere- what more do you want?
Post by: iggypop - Date: 2001-10-08T00:03:11.000-08:00 Author's Rating: 4.00 rating
Pros: cheapest consumer 400 negative print film very sharp saturated primary colors
Cons: shadow detail a little grainy not as smooth color gradations
The Bottom Line: For those who generally use 100 speed film, the sharpness is as good or if not slightly better than a 200 speed film, but you get 400 speed.
